The new stadium Eden will be opened on 7 May at 19:00. It is the largest multi-functional sporting and social site in the Czech Republic. Slavia Prague will play a friendly match against its first ever English opponent - Oxford University Association Football Club which they faced for the first time on 28 March 1899.
At the beginning of May 2008, Komerční banka will open a branch in the Edem multiuse complex, which also includes Slavia’s football stadium. In addition to standard banking operations clients will also have an opportunity there to request the bank’s new products, such as Flexibilní hypotéka [Flexible Mortgage Loan], and also Půjčka bez rizika [No-risk Loan] suitable, e.g., for shopping at discount.
A part of Eden multi-functional complex is more than 2,400 square meters of office premises. The administrative premises are offered for lease by a reputable international company Knight Frank.
After four years, Metallica is coming back to Prague! Next year, the fans of this legendary metal band will see the release of a new album, which Metallica will promote on their concert tour. The Czech Republic, specifically the new Eden, will be among their stops on this tour. They will perform here on 3 June 2008.
The new windows are going to be installed in Eden construction site soon. They will be installed according to schedule in the north in the monolith section in places attached to the North-East corner. “We are going to start next week,“ said the site manager Michal Pribil. The fun is over, now Eden starts. „They will be complete windows inlcluding framework and wings.“
The Eden stadium gets its roof. A giant crane lifted the first part of the roof last Wednesday. The steel construction weighing more than thirty eight tons was installed on short columns on the top of east wing of the site and also to the columns situated behind the stand.
The construction schedule of the stadium in Eden has just crossed its halfline. The gross construction comes into the final phase. The roof construction will be assembled during the summer months. The roof will be on its place in autumn.
What can you see in the western part of the site? It is a deep ditch and workers with protective helmets inside it. Heavy machinery in action, huge cranes looking down. Iron-concrete, tons of other material. This is Eden of today. “We have been working,“ site manager Michal Pribil comments.
The last part of Eden that will start growing up to the Vrsovice sky is the western stand. It is not an exaggeration to call it the heart of the stadium. “The stand is different in comparison to the other stands, for example as regards its dimensions. The steel construction has the longest joining beams, they are 36 meters long,“ the site manager Michal Pribil said.
The newest stand in Eden is the Northern one. Its assembly started on Monday, 19 March, so it is more than a month ago. The construction rapidly grows, only the benches and pole parts are still waiting for their alocation. It is interesting that the highest column at this stand measures 21 meters. While the installation of the North stand is going to last for some time, the south stand has almost been completed. “We only need to install only the benches and non-typical parts,“ site manager Michal Pribil said.
